Sony Ericsson w580i will not delete tasks when phone alerts me

Okay, I make a task on my phone, hours later, it alerts me at the appropriate time, I go okay, and I select the option, delete from list.

The problem is that it doesn't delete it from my list! It keeps it there, and in the end, I have a huge pileup of old tasks that I do not need to do!

Whats up with my phone?
 
mmm it doesn't open up the menu on mine. though when I open up the task it self it does, but not when it alerts me. I have to physically go to the organizer, then to tasks to delete it.
