I purchased the Sony Ericsson W580i in July of 2008, and it worked pretty well until August 2009, when it got some mild water damage- it was on my windowsill when it was raining and it got water on it. After about a day, it was up and working perfectly fine again. About 2 months ago, I went to my friend's house and the phone randomly turned off. I waited a few minutes, and turned it back on again-it was fine. About 2 weeks ago, I dropped my phone onto the floor from about 5 feet up. The floor was carpeted, and the phone was just fine, it seemed. Sometimes, my phone would randomly freeze up or have the screen go black. I'd just take out the battery, put it back in, and it was completely fine- it happened maybe 3 or 4 times. Tonight, about 20 minutes ago, I was in the middle of sending a text when my phone screen went completely black. The buttons on the side still lit up, but the screen was black. I took the battery out, blew on it, and put it back in, but still the screen wouldn't work, even though the sides and buttons lit up fine, and the sound worked.
I went downstairs to where I have service, and apparently my phone still can make calls- I called my own house and could hold a conversation on my phone. Only my screen would not work.
What can I do? Please help!
Oh, and how do I convince my mum it's not my fault my phone crapped out? (this one you don't have to help me with- what can I do is what I really need help with)
