Sony ericsson Satio problem please ?

I can't open my messages on satio, i press it and it comes up - black screen, and options on the bottom.. then it quickly closes.. i've turned the phone on and off and it didn't work so i took the battery out.. it didn't work, so i left it for a while it didn't work: WHAT TO DO !! HELP !!
