Sony bluetooth headset not working well with Macbook?

I recently bought the Sony BT101 wireless bluetooth headset and i hooked it up with my phone to listen to music and it worked fine and the sound quality was great but for some reason when i hook it up with my macbook, it succesfully connects and i can listen to itunes, but when i try to use it to hear videos on youtube and stuff it doesnt work. also the sound quality when hooked up to my mac is much worse then when using my phone. is there any software i need to download to make it work better? BTW my mac is running OS 10.4.11
