Sony a230 for professional pics? can i charge people for portraits with this cam?

I have a sony dslr a230, I want to try and see if I can make extra income, I am in school and it hard to work steadily, so this is away i came up with to make extra money, buy selling my pics, and taking modeling pics of men and women. A lot of my friends have the cannon 7d. Is the a230 a good enough camera to charge people for portraits. While I do see people charging online anywhere from 40 to 150 a hour, I will be around the 40 range. I am building a website with my work and business cards, I do have some muslin drops too, is there anything else i'd need to start a small biz like this
