sometimes i get sharp pains in my head, what is this?

sometimes not often, maybe once every week or other week, my temples (sorry if i spelt it wrong) hurt, like pressure is being put on it (on the right side) and when it hurts now and then i get sharp pains going though my head above it. it's only for like 1 second or 2 but it hurts. what is this? any help?
