So I just recently have been experiencing problems with my 2008 Honda Metropolitan. Mind you I don't know a lot about scooters/cars so I'm going to try to explain the problems the best that I can. Last Thursday/Friday it seemed like it was stalling a little bit (like when I'd stop at a stop sign or stop light) and when I'd hit the gas to go it would go a few feet, jerk a couple times then slowly start speeding up. I've never had this problem before, its usually very fast to speed up and never stalls when I stop or slow down. As the past couple days went by I noticed that it would do this more and more, or it would pick up speed but then start slowing down even when I was pushing the gas. So you can imagine this was really dangerous when I was trying to drive on busy roads, so I'm assuming its not safe to ride anywhere far anymore. Anyways, today was the worst though, it started right up (like it always does) and runs really well for the first half of my destination (like to the destination) but when I park it and turn it off and come back to drive home, it starts acting really goofy. Today it started making a noise like a lawn mower that is running out of gas and it also seems louder than it was when I first got it (you could barely hear it start now its loud) it also smelled a little weird when I got it home too (like with old vacuums when you'd suck up a rug or something it had a weird kinda' burning smell?). It has a full tank of gas, isn't leaking, oil was just changed within the past month (and I checked it and it is fine), coolant looks fine, battery seems fine, I check my tires often, I haven't gained weight so its not a matter of it slowing down because of that
, so I'm not entirely sure what it could be, as I don't have a lot of experience with vehicles and such. I would really appreciate some answers; I do realize I will probably need to take my moped into the shop but I would like to have some ideas with what could be wrong with it because if it is a simple problem I could probably fix it or have my dad fix it.
