something wrong with my chat system in facebook?

okay so when i go into my profile i cant chat to them but when i go to a friends profile the chat system in the bottom of the screen works and i can chat to them?

how to chat in my profile?
 
there's not much you can do but :

1) refreshing the page
2) log out and back in
3) switch your internet browser
