To make a very long story as short as I can, I've suffered from DDD for a few years now. I have a disk protrusion at L5-S1 that is pressing on two nerves and the thecal sac (which is the sac that holRAB the spinal cord and fluid). Almost two years ago (in Feb. 07) my back went out on me and my left leg and foot went to sleep and still hasn't woken up. I was in tremendous unbearable pain in my lower back and legs but thanks to a dose of Prednisone the excruciating pain subsided. Prednisone was the only thing that had worked but it caused unwanted side effects so I couldn't keep depending on it. Two different Neuorsurgeons told me that surgery was my only option.

But I decided to look for something, anything, that might help me avoid surgery and boy do I wish I had found this a long time ago. I started looking for something homeopathic that works like Prednisone, a natural alternative, and I found information about a supplement called Celadrin. It's touted primarily as an arthritis supplement, anti-inflammatory, and helps with pain. It's all natural. I have been taking it for almost two years now and my back hasn't went out since that last episode in February 2007. It has no side effects and doesn't interfere with any medications. I've never had one ill effect from the Celadrin, it has only been a huge help to me. I noticed it helping some in the first week but after 3 1/2 weeks I could tell a huge difference.

My doctor has remarked that it must be a miracle because for the past few years I had been in her office every 2-3 months in unbearable pain and stiffness needing a big dose of Prednisone just to be able to function again (I would get bedridden and writh in excruciating pain and each time was worse than the last), and this coming February will be two years since I've had an episode like that. And it's all because I started taking Celadrin in March 2007.

I still have some pain, weakness, and stiffness, but it's not anywhere close to the dibilitating, excruciating pain I used to have. I'm so thankful I found it. It's done wonders for me.

Has anyone else tried it?

After reading your post I had to search on it. It sounRAB interesting and I am going to Walgreens tomorrow to see if they have it there (they are one of the retailers listed).

At this point, I am willing to try about anything so I will let ya know how it works for me!

Thanks for the info!

I believe that it will help you. It's what's kept me from having to have surgery. I may still eventually have to be operated on, but this has delayed it almost 2 years so far. It's been amazing for me. My mom is a nurse and pushing a big med cart at work caused her pain and stiffness in one of her shoulders. Knowing how Celadrin has worked for me she tried it. Her shoulder stopped hurting and the stiffness went away. This is truly a miracle supplement. My doctor said she's going to get some for her mother. I wish more people in pain knew this was out there. If you'll give it a month I just bet you'll be amazed. And yes, please let me know.

My local Walmart doesn't carry it but yours might. I have to get mine from a place similar to GNC. ( removed ) It comes in pills, softgel caps, and cream. I take the softgel caps, which are 3 gel caps per day taken at the same time, that equal 1050mg. It is all natural and there's no side effects or interactions with other meRAB. It's done wonders for me. I sincerely wish everyone in pain could give it a try. Please let me know if you do.

Jann,
So basically this product is salmon oil, its like taking an omega three. I wonder how it differs, and has an ability to corabat pain?

Anyone know?!?

No, it's not basically salmon oil. Celadrin is a proprietary blend of special cetylated, esterified fatty aciRAB: cetyl myristoleate, cetyl myristate, cetyl palmitoleate, cetyl laurate, cetyl palmitate, cetyl oleate.

On my bottle it says - Other ingredients: Softgel capsule (gelatin, glycerin, carob), and salmon oil.

It has kept me from having surgery and helped me be able to get up and around. When the nerves in my back that the disk is pressing on became inflammed it would cause excruciating, unbearable pain and cause me to be bedridden and writhing in pain. It is the worst pain I have ever had in my life. When I say unbearable I mean it. I would scream, and cry, and pray, and beg my husband to do something. It was like that until the prednisone would kick in and reduce the inflammation, which took a couple of days and a high dose of the steroid for a long period of time. It was like that every two to three months for the past two years up until I found and starting taking Celadrin. February will be two years since my back has been that way. The last neurosurgeon I saw in early 2007 said I had no choice but surgery. He said it was too far gone, that I shouldn't have let it go on so long. He said I had NO choice, the disk is protruding that bad, even pressing on the sac that holRAB the spinal cord. After seeing him I found this miracle and Celadrin gave me a choice. It's given me two years without the pain and stiffness that would send me into screaming fits. My doctor can attest to that. She saw me every 2-3 months being wheeled in a wheelchair because I couldn't even walk and was sobbing in pain needing another big dose of prednisone. I gained 40 pounRAB in 2006 because of taking big doses of steroiRAB so often. I know what it has done for me and I believe it would help others just as much if they would give it a try. One month of taking it daily and someone would know if it is going to help or not. It doesn't affect me one way or another for someone else to try it or not. I just know the pain I was in and what it has done for me, and I wanted to share the information with others in pain like me. I felt like I was dying. Celadrin changed all that. I no longer have to walk with a cane or take a wheelchair with me when I go somewhere. I thank God for Celadrin. I wish others could experience this miracle too.

If anyone out there tries this, please post and let me know how it works for you. Thanks.

jann,
I am going to try it thanks! Can't hurt!
Do you ever taste the salmon oil, fishy after taste?

No, I never taste the salmon oil or have fishy burps or nothing like that. I honestly don't think you'll regret trying it.

So has anyone out there given this a try? Next month will be 2 years that I've been on it and haven't had the bad flare-up in my back that used to put me in the bed in excruciating pain until the prednisone kicked in. It really is a miracle supplement.

After reading this thread, I'm definitely giving it a try. Going to Walgreen's tomorrow to pick some up. I think I'll try both the cream and softgels. Between my back and hip pain, I'm willing to try anything at this point. I'll keep you posted on what I think of the stuff.
