something may be up with my power steering pump: 1989 dodge dakota 3.9 EFI V6?

ok,so heres the deal: today i raised my truck up to make sure my brake bleeders were not seized. as it was in the air, i pushed on the right front wheel to make it turn so i could stick my head behind the tire and see what i was doing.after i got the wheel turned fully to the left,i begun to do my work on the brake bleeder valve. as i was oiling the bleeder valve, i noticed a puddle of power steering fluid beginning to form on the ground. so, i popped the hood and there were no holes in the power steering pump but the fluid was coming out from the base of the filler/dipstick cap. there is a small rubber seal around the base of the cap. so, the question is: did turning the wheel in the fasion that i did make this happen? if so, why? i really appreciate anybody's input on this matter. thank you
 
The power steering fluid resovoir probably had too much fluid in it. When you turned the wheel with the engine off, the fluid in the steering rack flowed back up to the resovoir, thus causing it to overflow. If the engine were running, the pump would be forcing fluid into the steering rack. Check the level of the resovoir to make sure you are not underfilled now. Good luck.
