Something is wrong with my throat/mouth :(

Recently within the past two weeks i have experienced two main problems with my mouth and throat. First here is some background info;

- i quit smoking and did so for less than a year
- i'm 19 and in fairly good health
- consider myself a hypochondriac but try and not let that get out of my control

Alright, so the problems i've been having are:
1) There is a bb sized lump next to my uvula that has grown in size over the course of a month or so (it has grown to the size of a bb). There is no pain associated with it, just worry
2) Very recently and only recently I have been having the sensation of feeling like there is something caught in my throat, or that something is stuck to the far back of my tongue. It is very annoying and worrying. It went away after a few days at first, and started reoccuring about 2 to 3 days later and has been going on for 3-ish days now.

I think I might have the beginning stages of oral cancer. I don't know though. My parents and brother are telling me that it's just in my head and me worrying is causing the symptoms, but i know that isn't true. My dad even saw the bb sized lump and tried telling me it was normal, and that could be true. But associate it with the feeling of something being caught in my throat, it leads me to believe I might have oral cancer Any help or personal experiences would be much appreciated. I'm really scared.

I have had the same kind of irritation at the back of my tongue and come to find out it wasn't even on my tongue. It was this white thing that was stuck in my left tonsil. It was protruding from my tonsil so my tongue would rub up against it making me think it was on my tongue. If you open your mouth and look at your tonsils see if there are any white things. They arent puss pockets or anything but when they come out they smell like bad breath. It's totally gross but true. I have met other people who have these things too. I get them all the time. I just take the end of my toothbrush and force them out because they are soooooooooo annoying. I wouldn't worry too much. Just check with your Dr before you start freaking out. Fear is caused when we don't know so find out before you put yourself through all this.

Well i hope that isn't oral cancer cuz i am a 16 yr. old who has never smoked. and i have the same feeling of something stuck in the back of the throat.but only my uvula is very very swollen and i dont want to go to the hospital cuz what if i need surgery?... but i am going to ask my dad to take me cuz i need to get it fixed really bad gag reflexes.
