I'm in just the opposite boat as you are. I have 48 songs written, but no music to go along with them. Electro/Powerpop is the same genre I'm looking at going into.
The best way I go about writing lyrics is by taking an idea and typing it out on Wordpad. The chorus needs to make sense anywhere in the song. The verses should make sense in a chronological order.
Writing lyrics on your own is a lot more self-satisfying and would have an extremely greater amount of meaning.
