Someone stole my cellphone and used it, and I have proof. What should I do?

I noticed my cellphone was missing, and I kept it in my side pocket half of it was sticking out and I guess I wasnt paying attention at my quick stop to the mall to a starbucks, and I noticed that it was then gone. Next thing I know, I needed a phone asap, was sure it was just gone, so I went to verizon, tld them it was stolen and they did their protocol, and I got a new phone with a new number and all...saves the expense of same number + full retail price of new phone.

Anyhoo, i log into the website tonight to find out that someone used my phone to make a call or two about the same time it was lost, and I have that proof on my account page, and the verizon wireless reps at the store and over the phone when i reported it stolen, have that as proof.

So now, what I'm wondering is, what should the next step be? Can they somehow find the prson that did it, or if not, what should I do about it? Just let it go? I find that whoever did that is a jerk/ahole, and I feel like I should have a say in this. The phone wasn't left anywhere, and I didn't drop it,..someone literally took it from my pocket.

That's theft and usage as far as I'm concerned. Even that person claims it was just lying somewhere, they didn't turn it into lost and found like they should and went ahead and used it, it cost me time, money and hassle.

What can I do and what should I do? Oh and i traced the number that other person did call, and it was to a specific town/adress,..that I'm NOT familiar with. I know where the town is, but I don't know anyone there.

So with all this proof, what can /should I do, and what's normally done in cases like this?
