First of all i would like to say, i have been searching for a medical forum all night and everyone i have joined doesn't have any activity. Glad i finally found one.
I recently had an MRI of my brain and my doctor called to tell me that the results for my brain were fine but there was an increased signal from the bone marrow in my skull bones. She said she thinks its caused by my anemia and its nothing to worry about. My question is, What exactly does this mean and is it something i should be concerned with even though she says i shouldn't? Also, How can my anemia effect this? Any help on explaining what an increased signal from my bone marrow means would be fantastic.
I've had multiple blood tests done in the last couple weeks and the only thing "funky" with my blood is that my red blood cell count is low. My white blood cells and platelets are within the normal range. They have all been looked at under a microscope.
My symptoms are inflammation of the joints as well as anemia. Even though im not a health professional i believe the anemia is caused by the fact that i was on my period for multiple months and would lose a shot glass of blood every time i went to the bathroom. My doctor gave my a birth control shot a few weeks ago and the bleeding stopped. However the red blood cell count hasn't went back up.
