and I'm not sure if i should be insulted or not. I looked it up and i'm pretty insulted. She paired it up with flamboyant, so, that leads me to think she knows nothing about me.
yeah, someone just decided to message me and talk to me about my family and i and said that i have so much to look forward to and that i'm so flamboyant and ostentatious. I'm pretty much insulted right now. The womans knows my mom and knows me through my facebook. She knew me when i was a toddler but, um, she doesn't know me.

I don't think the person knows the meaning of the words. Flamboyant isn't necessarily an insult - it means dressing and acting in a big open way to be noticed. Ostentatious normally has to do with spending money to show off the fact you have money - big cars, big houses, designer clothes

Ostentatious means, showy, flashy and similar. It's up to you whether you take it as an insult. A previous answer suggests that it is in use in some societies as an insult. But the main point is - does that description fit?!
