i cant afford a hybrid or solar panels or anything but i have bought myself reusable lunch bags and a lunch box to stop my plastic use, i recycle, um any more suggestions please?
Reusable lunch bags and a lunch box are definitely a step in the right direction!
The best thing to do is just ... stop ... consider ... think.
You can make small changes ... and small changes become habits that do make a difference over time.
Replace your incandescent light bulbs with CFL's (compact flourescents) as they burn out and need replacing.
Buy eggs in cardboard (recyclable) cartons, rather than styrofoam.
Set your thermostat a few degrees lower in winter ... and wear an extra layer of clothing ... 2 thin shirts are warmer and more comfortable than one heavy shirt! You won't even notice the couple of degrees lower your furnace is running!
Get into the habit of buying grocery/household products that use minimal and/or recyclable packaging. This makes a HUGE difference.
The best advice I can give you is to simply become more aware of what you're doing, what you're using, and what you're consuming. Small changes add up to a lot ... start with little things, and you will be surprised (and pleased, no doubt!) at how quickly you become more "green" in your thinking and in your way of living.
buy food in bulk, it has less wrapping on it, and try to minimize the plastic you use. compost what you can, use reusable bottles, containers, and don't buy bottles of water. try to use paper again for scratch, don't buy what you don't really need.
