It was 4.30 am in the morning. I looked outside the window, in 10 feet distance, I could see the dogs were in group of 5-6. They surround the cat and looks like they are trying to rip off its body. I make loud noise and flashes light at them and they left the poor cat, some reluctantly. Upon hearing the noise, some of my neighbours joined me to checked on the cat. It was still breathing but so week, so I returned it back to its owner (the cat was pregnant and the owner are having very difficult time to keep it inside. I guess she was at the wrong place and time and finally will learn the lesson on why its owner insist to keep her inside)
I moved to this area 2 years ago, some of my neighbour own lots of cats (include feeding the stray which seldomly stay inside the house). There are also stray dogs, but they just walk pass by or sometimes dig up the garbage. They were not harm at all. This is where I don't get it.
What has make these stray dogs think that a cat will become their meal? Are they becoming more dangerous:
1) when they are in large groups?
2) at night?
3) when facing smaller or helpless animals? (can they harm small kids also?)
4) when extremely hungry?
5) in any other event or situation? help to explain...
Please help me to understand this situation. I don't want it ever happen again to any other pet or person. It's not just traumatic to the cat, it traumatized me!
Really appreciate your views & opinions, no jokes..
