Some sort of spam blocker is stopping me from making a gmail account?

I made a g mail account once for a school project about a year ago (and i dont remember my sign in) and now it wont let me make a new one because it says multiple accounts have been made and its their way of blocking spam. Nobody in my family has made an account other than myself that one time. Can i get around that?

Help would be great!
