Some questions about Employment Law?

There was an argument between 2 colleagues a work and only ONE was given a verbal warning
* Can someone be given a verbal warning whilst they're on annual leave (and still in country?) What is the law on this?
* Can anyone else be informed whether someone has received a verbal warning also?

1. The status of the employee (on leave or off) is not relevant to them being given a warning.
2. The privacy of the warning system is at the discretion of the employer, though most (not all) tend to keep it private.
