:-( Long description.? Alright, so I'm in a band, and it's doing pretty well for itself now, we've got a large amount of gigs coming up at some really great venues and we have 3 guitarists. 2 lead who are both very good players and then our rhythm. Our rhythm guitarist has been with us since the band formed. Our original line up changed, after the drummer and lead guitarist left, but 2 of the guitarists we auditioned were so good we took both. so our rhythm guitarist was not really needed anymore, but we didnt want to "chuck" her.

She is a lovely girl, but is very very quiet, hardly talks at sessions, cant really tune her guitar herself and quite oftern plays the wrong notes without really knowing... it was when one of the our members said she's got to go that we realised its a bit unavoidable. At these gigs the sound levels will be perfect and if she is playing badly, unlike in sessions, everyone will hear it.

Now the hard thing, how to tell her? She has little confidence to begin with, but its something that needs to happen sadly. We've scheduled a pizza hut for the band tonight, and im planning to tell her with the others there it will be 4 out of 6 of us there including her ( it wasnt me who really wanted to tell her, but im a girl too so i thought it might be nicer for me to tell her).

Some advice, how do i do it? I have a thank you card we'll all sign for her.. but i dont know how to break it to her? I dont want to destroy her confidence.
