Solve for zero, 0=x^3-6?

I am finding the determinant of A which is a singular matrix, and I used the rule ad-bc to get (x+2)(x-1)-4 = x^3-6, how do you solve this for zero. The answer is x= -3 or x=2? Please explain process???
