I really like alternative or contemporary singers. I'm an alto but can hit a few high notes not much over a G :$ however, my teacher has asked the class to do a solo and I'm having trouble finding songs that would be good to sing. It has to be under 5 mins. My voice type is kinda rough but I guess edgy...I don't know 
I was playing around with Hilary Duff then Lykke Li but maybe something by Florence + the Machine, but I'm open to other artists as well. A couple suggestions would be great, I'll check em out and give feedback, thanks alot
