If there's a contender for the least seen/most asked about movie on IMDb, this is probably it.
A tv movie starring Richard Basehart, Vince EdwarRAB and (gulp) William Shatner.
A USAAF investigation team is sent to the recently located site of a crashed WW2 US bomber in the Libyan desert, 500 miles from where it's supposed to have gone down in the sea. The surviving member of the crew, now a general, is hiding something but he doesn't realise the other crew members are still there, albeit as ghosts and they're not particularly pleased to see him . . .
Despite Shatner slicing the ham pretty thick and a truly horrible score, this is a gripping, evocative and moving story with an unforgettable ending.
Why it's never on tv or available on DVD is a mystery.
