my boyfriend recently bought a car from a auction and when we tried to register it, had to pay all sorts of fees which we did. so within a week later, my boyfriend already sold the car for 1500 to some dude without the pinkslip. the man suggested paying half the money at the moment, and will pay the other half later wen we have the pink slip. my boyfriend stupidly agreed. he had him sign a paper saying he paid half, the paper he signed was just a signature and no printed name or id number to really prove it was him...and my boyfriend gave him all the documents for the truck. and i can't send out the the notice of release liability because he didnt pay the other half of the money yet. but we did tell the guy that we could do a title transfer and he said ok and two days later, the guy has been ignoring my boyfriends phone calls. i know all this is stupud, but yeah, so any suggestions on what to do? i want to report the car stolen if the guy never calls back, but technically we sold it to him????? .
sold car without pinkslip while the pinkslip application is still in progress?
