Solar system devices to light 2 bulbs and a cooking stove ?

Hi Guys, I was actually wondering what solar energy equipment would I require to use the above. The system would be stand alone and off the grid. I understand that solar panels and a battery would be required but what about and inverter or charge controller. I understand what they are used for but I am trying my level best to reduce costs.
This plan is for rural villages in developing countries that have very low income, so in order to light and cook would anyone be able to tell me what the cheapest equipment would be. Any details would be very helpful thanks.

The cheapest solution for them is an oil lamp and wood burning stove. As it is today, solar power is a toy for the rich. This will change in time. After all, cars in 1905 were toys only for the rich.
