software to make an image of my hdd and be able to burn to a bootable cd or dvd?

i have vista on laptop and want to try xp on it, but if xp doesnt want to work good on my laptop then i want to be able to just install vista back from the image i make from my hdd.
is there any software that will let me make an image of my hdd and burn to bootable cd or dvd.
i have tried the acronis but doesnt let me burn it to a dvd or make it an iso
