Soft Lump near right shin

Today I noticed a nickle sized soft lump near my right shin about 5 inches above my ankle. It is painless, not discolored and soft. When I sit down it disappears but you can see it when I am standing up.

Would anyone have any idea of what this could be?

Could be a varicose vein. Mine do like that...and no ugly blue vein poking out. Just a lump that goes away when I stand - esp if I flex my leg muscles.
