SOCKS or foot covering FOR SWIMMING?

I have scars and some sort of noticeable dis-figuration on my foot from a past surgery. I want to go to the public pool but I don't want to gross anyone out. The issues with my foot are not open wounds or anything and or not super gross but still.......... Can anyone advise on something I can use to cover my foot while swimming.
