Social Scene in the 50"s?

I am doing a paper on the 50's for school, and I have everything I need except for the social scence.
What was the social scence like in the 50's does anyone know???
 
My guess would be malt shops, drive thru's and drag races. People just hung out like they do now. People are into different things nowadays. I might be off.
