Soap fans, it is the fall of 2012?

The demise of the remaining soaps threatens. It costs too much to produce the networks say...
If the shows decided to cut costs by cutting back on the cost of the scene backgrounds and props and the extra camera angles and added a couple more minutes of advertising, would you still watch?
And:
The soaps used to be filmed before a live audience, If they did that again would you pay for a ticket to see your favorite soap being "taped" if you were in the area?

Please answer both questions. Thanks.
