So will LG ever get OS updates?

I got this new sleek LG GT540 yesterday, and i'm pretty new to the android community.
Although i read up a bit before and i wonder if LG phones will ever get OS updates, like froyo and stuff?
I guess not, since there isn't one that i can see available.
 
I owned one LG 'dumb' phone. Never again. No support, no updates, no solutions to the many problems.

doesn't even give it a mention so you may well be out of luck.

All my attempts at LG support failed and there is a very weak forum community.
 
I don't know about any news about that it will update the system.

I did heard of that, the HTC and samsung will update there systems, and samsung recently released a new phone, called galaxy K, its system is froyo, and fully support flash 10.1.

HTC will release 2.2 update packages for some series(likely just for os 2.0 plus phones).
