So why was there a polar bear in Lost?

I just watched the series finale, and fell like i do after eating half a meal and not being full. I still do not get half the stuff that happened:
What happened to Walt/Michael?
Where did te Polar Bear come from?
Why did that wheel thing end up in the sahara?
Why did some people go crazy on the island?
What did the Dharma initiative even want?
 
These are the questions that were left unanswered.
Michael died a while ago on the island, and Walt made it off the island and lived his life and died or something.
I guess people went crazy because they were on an island that was creepy as heck with no way to get off.
I think I would go crazy too.
