So what exactly is happening with the US economy?

I hear about ALL this stuff going on and I feel clueless about it. Oil prices jump their highest in one day ever, this whole government bailout thing, big wallstreet firms going bankrupt/selling out... What does this all mean, how is it going to affect regular Americans? Is it a big deal?
 
yea it is a big deal because once the economy drops..things are gonna get more expensive..and who wants that?? your pockets will burn because money would just be used for less items at the grocery store instead of a whole cart filled with groceries...i hope you understand now
 
The paper pushers and quick buck artists are going without paychecks and the working guys are doing business as usual.
Always seem the guy that can build something, or make something never really misses a beat. He may have a few low weeks, but he still gets a paycheck.
Maybe America should consider open up their factories and closing down their ocean trade lanes, start building and stop swapping crap for knowledge. Getting harder and harder to sell a piece of paper.
 
well McCain said a few days ago that our economy was strong and today he says our economy is very bad. i'm confused too.

but really, IMO, America and her Greenback are about to collapse.
 
It is a VERY big deal. Inflation is WAY ahead of economic growth, the very wealthy are fixing to make the VERY, VERY wealth even more wealthy with the bailout, the administration and McSame proposed to continue a HUGE tax cut for the wealthy, the national debt has exploded because we have borrowed to invade Iraq (for no reason and no benefit whatever), we are losing the war in Afghanistan because our military is depleted and weak, and the economy is headed rapidly downhill. Things are going to get VERY VERY grim.
