So there is a domain name that I want and its about to expire.?

When can I buy it? On the exact expiration date? If so what timezone? Do I have to get in queue for it? Can any registrar sell it?
I tried to buy it from the owners several years ago and didn't have the money at the time. It is unused and now they do not respond to my emails.
 
You cannot register a domain name immediately once it has been expired. Every registrars has different grace period. The domain name will be held with the registrar during the grace period. You can back order the domain name with the respective registrar. But there is not guarantee that you would get the domain name. If the current domain holder is not responding to your mail, Try to contact him/her through phone line. You can get the contact information of the current domain holder by having a whois lookup at www.WhoisXY.com Good luck mate.
