So say climate change is a completely natural process (which it is) and its not

influenced by humans at all...? surely human are still effecting the earths capacity to deal with the natural climate change by building everywhere, effecting the natural habitats ability to migrate.
Surely the loss of biodivesity we are experiencing and the fact this is only going to increase means we should still be concerned about this process natural or not? and all the other environmental issues going along with it? Including the effect of pollution on ourselves, with asthma rates rising every year surely its not enough to go "the world is not warming, and its natural

to Walaka: I totally agree with what you are saying, you seem to be one of the sensible people on here. Im not saying that climate change isnt influenced by man.. because it is, im just trying to understand why some people think its enough to go "the world isnt warming, its cooling and its natural" so everythings fine.. when even if the changes where completely natural we have influenced the earths capacity to deal with natural changes, and therefore it would still be an issue, with respect to the environment and extinctions and ourselves, we still need to take a good look at our pullution levels and the rate we are using our natural resources and go "something has to change", wether people believe if the world is undergoing human influenced climate change or if its not, we still need to do something.
 
i am agree. Climate little influence by human due to blasts ,industries(air pollution). but more due to nature
 
You are right, the world is warming due to human influences despite the "coolness" of the last few years which are all still amongst the top 10 of all years on record. When ppl here take a short term trend and say that it's an indication that there isn't global warming despite the avalanche of science to the contrary then it's either a sign of ignorance or culpability.
 
But all the evidence points to this not being a 'normal warming' episode, but rather one caused very much by human influence. The trouble is that because reputable scientists do not want to be seen as alarmist, and because the international need for consensus, the possible effects are being quoted at the lower range, and to be honest we have no real way of knowing just what natural positive feedback mechanisms are going to be activated. Already we are seeing effects that no one had seriously included. Every year we are learning new effects and so far they have all given cause for concern. Melting perma frost with its release of additional CO2, acidification of the oceans with added potential for CO2 release, much faster melting of Arctic ice (Won't raise sea levels but is almost certain to play havoc with the ocean currents in the Northern Hemisphere). There is the potential for Methane and CO2 chelates in the deep ocean to be released, this is a disaster if it happens.

Scientists are hopefull that by limiting temperature rise to less than 3 degrees C most of the positive feedback mechanisms can be avoided, but that is not a good bet at all given that we know so little about all the possible risks.

Modern humans are incredibly stupid as a group. We know dam well that we only have one planet to live on. Yet we happily treat it like a garbage dump, no respect at all for the rather delicate natural balancing act that keeps it habitable. And why? For purely short term convenience, not for need, or survival just for greed and because we are lazy.

There is no need for AGW to destroy life as we know it, but we will be far too stupid to act quickly enough because the effects are not in your face bloody obvious and by the time they are it will be too late.
