Alright.
I set to work putting the coding into my new site. I got FTP working right, the files in what I believe is the right place (my host told me 'httpdocs' was the place to put them... it's the only place FTP will allow me to put them, anyways), and a neat little php include coded in to make changing my layout a breeze.
Okay, seems fine, right?
Wrong.
I when I loaded up my webpage, I saw the code that I had typed... but not the translation of the code into what I WANTED to see: my website's layout.
The site is "sunshinefaire . wickedsims . com", by the way, if you want to take a look.
Now, I get several results depending on how I save the original document of "index". The ones that show the full code, plus "code.php" and "index.php", are saved as ".txt" files in Word and their names changed in Cyberduck.
Well then, if I try to use the extension "php" I get "index.php.txt", or any combination of "index.php.doc" or "index.php.html", depending on how I save it.
What am I doing wrong?
I want to at least get the homepage up today, since I'm getting so many problems. Yesterday I was tearing my hair out over permissions and now I'm tearing my hair out over coding! What's wrong with me/my computer?
How do I get the code to show up properly? The last time I was using php includes and FTP was about two years ago... I've lost so much of the information that I used to know...
