OK, so we have this big to-do this week about how I "don't treat her special", "don't act like I love her any more", "we don't go on dates any more", blah blah blah. 21 years married.
So Friday's the night (tonight). It's date night. I bring her home fresh cut flowers. I'm going to take her out to an expensive dinner, and then out for drinks and dessert, and then a nice hot bath at home with candles and all.
15 minutes into supper, she's looking at her iphone texting someone. then someone texts her. I'm like sheeez. Then she says "I forgot to tell you ... it's my sister... she called this afternoon and said they are coming in town and wanted to know if they could stay with us tonight...."
I'm like, OK, we are on a date here, but you can't stay off the %$#@! phone. And now we're having company this weekend. Great.
"Well, I don't know what to tell her...it would be rude to just make her get a hotel...."
I said "Rude? Isn't it RUDE to call someone up and invite yourself to their house a few hours before you get there, especially after you told her we had a DATE tonight?"
She says "I know, I know".
Of course, I said "fine then, have them come over. We might as well get out of here and get home, because they'll be hounding us the rest of the night."
So much for a date. Privacy. Intimacy.
I don't want to hear any more of that crap.
I AM SO DONE.
this is the same sister that, a few years back, pilfered through my medicines and proceeded to tell the entire family what medications I was taking.
