Why are you guys so scared to mod yours? I have a system made in October 2005 with an LG drive. Probably the worst 360 you can get. It's been modded since September and i've never had an issue with it.

Also, M$ isn't gonna ban those with the firmware hack because the new 360s can't be modded so the problem is solved in their eyes.

I just mod mine last night. It took about 2 hours, most of it trying to open the dang box. As far as flashing the firmware, i think it took about 15minutes total.

they were never unmodable, there was however no software solution for some time. you had to desolder the dvd drives flash and read it with an external reader.
