So im trying to bulk up for football but i feel as if i'm doing something wrong, can someone give me a second?

I started off 135lbs and today, january 13th 2012, i hit 153.2, but a lot of it seems like fat. though i know there is muscle gain how can i ensure that i am actually gaining weight of of muscle and not fat. I try my best to eat health but its my first year at university so it can be difficult at time. this is my routine, which has been modified several times:

Day 1
pullups, chinups, & dips
barbell rows
flat bench press
Seated Shoulder Press

Day 2
squats
deadlifts
Box Squats
glute ham raise

I do this 4 times a week 3 set and 6-8reps. My goal is to hit about 175 by next year and then begin to cut to be in the best shape for football. Does this sound alright? are there things that i can be doing to improve my workout? I also have this fear that i will lose weight when i work on my abs. Thats is why i choose not to. Should i work on my abs? Finally im debating whether or not i should take out my deadlifts and put in power cleans? any suggestions?
