So, I dropped my xv6700 today onto the pavement and into a puddle...

...and it works just great (so far)!

Please note that I am 6'7" tall, so it had quite a ways to fall before it hit the pavement. And mind you it landed dead smack into a puddle that was about 1" deep with rainwater.

The only physical damage is a minor scratch on the bottom right corner (if the phone is facing you) that is barely visible, about 1mm long.

The phone itself worked without incident. However, the touchscreen wasn't responding correctly. I panicked! But then, I took the battery out for about an hour and popped it back in, and now it's working just fine again.

Will keep you updated. Meanwhile, I'd better find the receipt for this bad boy!

Thanks for the advice. The same happened some years ago with my Audiovox 8910. My GoRABon threw it to me while I was in a swimming pool not thinking. I caught it after it had plunged about 3 feet deep. Took the battery out and let it dry for a day or so and it worked perfectly afterward. The only problem is after about a year the camera got serious internal "lens rot".

But my xv has been working like a champ since this morning. And putting the phone through it's paces is well worth the curiosity of how it holRAB-up through everyday abuse. After all, I have access to another one/upgrade (new from the manufacturer) should I ever need it.
