So I bought a Samsung Freeform from Alltel and I have a few questions about it?

Well to start, I had At&t up until the other day when I found out I didn't like the service, so I just bought the Samsung Freeform from Alltel yesterday, and I noticed something that I really don't like about it, or the Alltel company itself. I began texting and noticed the 160 character limit, but then figured "Oh, it'll probably split my texts up just like my At&t phone did..". WRONG.

I searched around and read about Handcent, ChompSMS and one other that allows you to continue to text even after the 160 limit, and splits the texts up for you, but been seeing a lot about the "droid" using it, and nothing else. So here are my questions:

1) Is the droid the only phone that can use the texting programs stated above?
2) If I am able to use it for my freeform, how can I download it to my phone?
3) If I do not like it, am I able to get rid of it and never have to see it again?

Thank you in advance for any information anyone has to offer.

Daniel
