...speed rear end? I am looking for my first bike (used) and I have seen lots of bikes with either 8 or 9 gears in the back. making them a 24 or 27 speed. Does this truly make a difference. I was told by one person that I should go with the 9 speed so that if i ever wanted to upgrade i would not have any problems..... I was also told that an 8 speed rear end is just fine. So which is best and does it make a difference?
So i am new to cycling (road bikes). Is there a big difference between an 8 or 9...
