I get what's goin on with the Big 3 and, ok, it sucks but I'm curious about Toyota and Honda. I'm in the market for a new minivan with an insanely low price tag but I don't want a "Big 3" minivan. I assume Honda and Toyota are not circling the drain like our American car makers but could they're sales be down as well?

All sales are down and Toyota is posting a loss for the first time in 70 years.

Big 3 or not, the Caravan is still rated the best.

Neither one is doing well. Both Honda and Toyota are down over 30% from last year. And Toyota just posted a HUGE loss of 1.7 BILLION dollars for the year!

Nobody is immune to this economic disaster of a recession that we're in. Everyone is hurting. The best car maker for the year is Audi. They posted a mere 3% decline. Toyota is down 34% and Honda is down 31%. But isn't it frightening that the BEST car in sales is in the red?

Just don't buy anything from GM. They are struggling with costs and losing tons of money. They have a new tactic--many times they will not honor the warranty on their cars. I ended up paying my monthly payment and the repair cost--sometimes i was paying $1,000 per month! I sued them for breach of contract and won, but it took me one year and the stress and frustrations that go along with it are overwhelming.
Go to Hell GM!

And if you are looking for a minivan--look to the Mazada minivan. Best value for your dollar.

Contrary to what has been said. In a comparison between the Honda Odessy and the Mazda MPV. The Honda wins, hands down. Both manufacturers posted losses. Toyota first time in over 70 years, Honda 12. Their sales are down, but nowhere near as far.
