Hi - just wondering if any 40-something women out there have been suffering with undiagnosed low back/hip/buttock pain - I've been dealing with this for over 3 years -

thanks!

Piriformus syndrome perhaps?

U'l know if u hav it by sitting on the edge of ur bed, raise one leg and place the foot on the knee of the other leg, then pull towarRAB the leg on tops opposite shoulder, if u feel a pull across the muscle in ur bum then that's what ur suffering from. Untrapping nerves can help with this.

Cud also b to do with compression of the spinal cord... Feel gentle along ur spine see if u find any pain.

Probs best to see a spine specialist physiotherapist, they shud know wat to do with it.

Good luck gettin better :)

I'm 44 and am a spine problem veteran ( don't worry, I have an underlying condition which makes my ligaments and tendons lax which contributes to my knee and spine stuff).

Have you had MRI, CT and full consultation with an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon and/or Neurosurgeon. They don't only do surgery but can talk with you about any findings and treatment options.

Hi there, I am only 23 but have very similar symptoms. I have had it for 12 yeas now and i am currently taking morphine for pain releif, and i still haven't had a diagnosis! Let me know if you find anything interesting x

I do! Constant low back pain that radiates into my butt, leg and even pubic area! Very painful! Usually on a daily basis... I'm 45 BTW.... Sorry you are suffering too!

Thank you for your replies, ladies!

Over the past 3 1/2 years, I've had 2 MRI's, Injections, Massage, Chiropractic, X-Ray, Physical Therapy, . . . .

I've been told in PT that my pelvis is out of alignment . . . unless I live in a bubble, I would probably need to go to PT the rest of my life!

I was recently told it looks like I have fibromyalgia!

Hugs,
Bonnie
