Shouldn't they be looking to their own government inspectors and regulations. Not the contractors. Especially in the schools, they are a government institution.

Ahh, Scooby, but they did execute some business men for poor standards in a medical manufacturing facility, and some others for allowing poor standards in a food processing plant, both of these caused deaths but far fewer than this quake has caused. You can't really blame it on the standards either, as the older building 20+ are still standing, indicating that the standard is not the issue nessesarily, but the level it was built at and the inspection process.
Absolutely Allen. This is the second time in a year they have had to call out the military to help with clean up and relief after natures fury. I was truly amazed and impressed when they mobilized a million soldiers in 48 hours during their winter storms, and the current response is equally impressive.
