snowball fight legal question?

Really crazy story here but il skip the major details.
My friend was in his car parked and as a joke i dumped some snow on his windshield no damage done. He backed out and proceeded to drive around the block and throw snowballs at me for a little snowball fight. My other friend who was with me threw a snowball that hit his side view mirror and cracked the casing a little bit. I threw mine at another friend and didn't even hit the car. Now the kid driving the car is threatening to take legal action against both the kid who threw the snowball AND me if he doesn't pay him. Ignoring how ridiculous this sounds, I don't really understand why either, but he is threatening to make me pay also if the snowball thrower doesn't pay up. I am wondering if he could legally do this or if I would be considered an "accomplice" by legal definition to this extremely mild case of property damage.
