sneezing and wheezing

my girl friend keeps on sneezing and sniffling and at time when she is at sleep she has a wheezing sound that comes out of her throat. She does have a do and her son has a similar issue but not as bad as hers. What can she do? And, what is causing this. Thank you,

The wheezing is a classic symptom of asthma. The sneezing and sniffling probably indicate that she is allergic to something - and the allergy is probably triggering the asthma.

The allergies can be treated with an over-the-counter antihistamine like Claritin or Zyrtec (or a generic version of either one). For the asthma she and her son really need to see a pulmonologist for a lung function test and to have the doctor determine if they need any medications to help manage the asthma.
