Snapped Drive Belt, WTF

It is possible that the belt was too loose and while hammering on it while doing the dyno runs the belt jumped a tooth. Even jumping the belt one tooth will kink the belt and ruin it.

I had the wheels replaced on my bike and the belt was overtightened and broke. The dealership was awesome about the whole thing. They came and picked the bike up, fixed it, and brought it back home overnight. The only shady thing they did was not fess up to overtightening the belt and handing me a straight, shiny piece of hose clamp and telling me that they found it laying on top of the belt guard and that it must have gotten between the belt and pulley. Yeah................
