Now, now...I'm not an indiscriminate snake killer I just wanted to get your attention. I do, however find many small brown snakes in my garden. They don't have a triangular head, like some poisonous snakes do. They are tan-brown, nondescript, about the size of a pencil or smaller. Usually where there is one, there is two or even three. Sometimes I notice little black dots down the sides of them but not always. The underbelly is pale yellow. Do you know what type snake these are? Do they get any larger than this? I've never seen a grown one; unless these are grown.
I have been leaving them alone in the garden for the past several years. True Confessions: At first I thought they might be baby copperheads and I killed them but I don't think they are.
