smoke for scooter yamaha Neo's?

i recently purchased a yamaha neo's 2nd hand. I got it with 700km on it and now its on 1200km. Today while i was driving, my phone rang and i stopped away from the cars to answer the phone. I very oddly and weirdly accelerated with my hand and my other hand on the phone. The scooter went forward and fell sideways on a pavement. The exhaust has a protection sort of shield and it got scratched and sort of bend inside a little. Besides that its fine. Now after the a long day of using it when i cam to put it in the garage. Smoke was coming out of the exhaust (like that of a cigarettes but not as grey as cigg smoke). It smelled like something was burning. Is that normal??, im really new to motorcycles. Thankyou
